The Week’ Section On Fifa 15

These Reigning Days track Thrones has been chosen as the soundtrack by EA Games for their “Goals of the Week’ section on Fifa 15.

The band also play three amazing dates in India this week.

Jan 22 : The Emerge Festival, India, Bluefrog, Mumbai
Jan 23 : The Emerge Festival, India, The Hummingtree, Bengaluru
Jan 24 : Summerhouse Cafe, The Emerge Festival, India, New Delhi

You can see the new video to Thrones below.

These Reigning Days music is often described as anthemic, epic stadium rock. It fuses layers of strong but understated guitar lines with a twisting, indie-pop synth sound that quietly drives the compositions. Drawing on a great range of influences their songs, penned by Dan Steer, are memorable, danceable and instantly accessible whilst still retaining much depth for those who want to glean more. Dan’s stunning unique and powerful vocals and soaring guitar are underpinned with a pulsing rhythm section from drum phenomenon Joe Sansome and formidable bassist Jonny Finnis.

FIFA Also Lost Three Sponsors

London: FIFA have rejected suggestions that major sponsors were cutting their ties with the organisation because it was a “toxic brand”, saying on Friday that they were in advanced negotiations with new sponsors eager to replace the old.

Britain`s Daily Telegraph revealed on Friday that three major sponsors, Continental, Castrol and Johnson & Johnson, were not renewing their contracts with world soccer`s governing body.

Emirates Airlines and Sony announced last year that they were also severing their ties with FIFA.

But FIFA`s marketing director Thierry Weil told Reuters on Friday that those companies contracts with FIFA were always due to expire at the end of last year and new ones were negotiating to take their place.

“Rotations at the end of a sponsorship cycle are commonplace in the sports industry and have continuously occurred since the commercialisation of the FIFA World Cup began,” Weil said.

“It is natural that as brands’ strategies evolve they reassess their sponsorship properties. The contracts were always planned to run until the end of 2014.

“As in previous FIFA World Cup cycles, we are now in advanced negotiations with a number of companies related to sponsorship agreements in all three of our categories.

But not everyone is convinced that FIFA, who have been buffeted by one crisis after another over the last few years, is still a name sponsors want to be associated with.

Damian Collins, the British MP and the guiding light behind the pressure group New FIFA Now which was launched in Brussels on Wednesday, said he believed sponsors were cutting ties as a result of the scandals and controversies that continually surround FIFA.

“FIFA is a toxic brand,” Collins was quoted as saying in the Daily Telegraph.

“I think that`s why companies who care about their reputation don`t want to be considered with it.”

Sponsors bring in at least $1.5 billion in revenue over each four-year cycle.

Castrol had been a World Cup sponsor since 2008, Continental Tyres since 2010 and Johnson & Johnson signed a deal for a single cycle in 2011.

Meanwhile the sportswear company SKINS, whose chairman Jamie Fuller was a delegate at the launch of New FIFA Now, launched a light-hearted “non-sponsorship” relationship with the governing body.

In a statement on Friday the company said: “The non-multi-million pound, announcement allows the company to highlight unshared brand values and confirms SKINS` contempt for an organisation which has been constantly shrouded in allegations of corruption and controversy, yet is potentially preparing to re-elect its President Sepp Blatter for an unprecedented fifth term in office.

“This anti-FIFA stance is intended to be fun and engaging but it carries a very serious message in support of”

FIFA Loses Three World Cup Sponsors

Oil manufacturers Castrol, tyre and car parts business Continental and healthcare company Johnson & Johnson have each chosen not to extend deals with FIFA, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The three companies were among a group of eight businesses identified as ‘World Cup sponsors’ by FIFA, which also had six top-tier ‘partners’ at the time of the 2014 tournament. It was confirmed in November that two of the elite group of backers, Sony and Emirates, had ended their relationships with FIFA, with Moscow-based oil and gas giant Gazprom joining ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Daily Telegraph reports Castrol stating : “We have not been sponsors of FIFA since, I believe, the World Cup last year.”

Of its own decision to end its FIFA association, Johnson & Johnson told the newspaper: “It was a decision that was made for business reasons after a comprehensive review.”

Continental stated: “It was a great platform for us and now we’re using football on a regionalised level.”

Campaigners lobbying for reform of FIFA, which has faced a number of instances and allegations of corruption, have said they will target its sponsors.

The strategy emerged at this week’s ‘New FIFA Now’ summit in Brussels, the first organised campaign to challenge the leadership of FIFA in its 111-year history.

Former Football Association chairman Lord Triesman, who has previously made allegations in Parliament about FIFA corruption surrounding the bidding for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, attacked the culture and governance of FIFA under president Sepp Blatter.

Jaimie Fuller, the chairman of the SKINS sportswear company who has previously campaigned for reform of cycling, announced he will be writing to all FIFA sponsors.

Candidates for the FIFA presidency must secure five nominations from national associations by January 29, with the contest in May expected to be a battle between long-term incumbent Blatter and Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein from Jordan.

Winter Transfer Will Be Frequently Updated In The Future

The development team at EA Sports is announcing that it is now commencing the winter transfer process for FIFA 15, which is designed to reflect the real world moves that are taking place during the January window and get all the important players to their new teams so that fans can use them in a variety of modes.

The official announcement explains that the studio wants to implement the changes as fast as possible, possibly even just a few days after they are finalized in the real world.

The first batch of FIFA 15 winter transfers includes plenty of team changes, including the biggest move so far, that of striker Wilfried Bony who is no longer part of the Swansea line-up and is ready to star for Manchester City, and more will be delivered soon.

Fans should keep in mind that there’s a difference between the moment when a player is confirmed as making a move by the media and the moment when all the paperwork related to it goes through and the move is fully official.Constant updates are the key to success.

The impact of the changes will be felt across all game modes that are included in FIFA 15, which means that there are also some changes for Ultimate Team.

EA Sports adds, “We will make these changes as quickly as possible, so expect multiple updates throughout January and early February. Please note that this only applies to new items found in packs. If you obtained a player item prior to their transfer, their item will not change while in your collection.”

Many gamers were expecting the studio to introduce one major update when the January window closes.

The system chosen by EA Sports has the advantage of being faster to implement changes, but it can also pose some problems for gamers who cannot keep track of all the changes.

The player community has also been pushing the development team to deliver at least one major title update for FIFA 15, designed to tweak some of the gameplay mechanics that are seen as underpar, which includes using pace to get through defenses and crosses.

So far, EA Sports has not said whether it has plans to modify how the title is played in the near future.

Messi In The King’s Cup Winner Atletico Madrid

Lionel Messi’s late goal earned Barcelona a 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Copa del Rey quarter-final on Wednesday.

Barcelona, who secured their last-eight place with a 9-0 aggregate victory over Elche, started the Nou Camp clash with all-star triumvirate Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez but were thwarted for long periods by Diego Simeone’s Spanish league champions.

Those in the crowd were treated to a fiercely contested cup tie, with tackles flying, but despite the commitment the deadlock could not be broken until five minutes from time as Atletico, who knocked holders Real Madrid out in the previous round, defended resolutely.

Messi smashed a free-kick against the Atletico wall and, as the visitors attempted to clear, Sergio Busquets was fouled in the area and referee Jose Gonzalez pointed to the penalty spot. Messi’s low spot-kick was parried away goalkeeper Jan Oblak, but the Slovenian could only watch helplessly as Barcelona’s talisman poked home the rebound.

The 85th-minute goal gives Barcelona a slender lead going into next Wednesday’s second-leg encounter at the Vicente Calderon stadium.

Villarreal needed a late goal from substitute Bruno to record a 1-0 victory over Getafe at the Estadio El Madrigal.

Villarreal dominated possession and could have been ahead much earlier in the first-leg encounter had it not been for striker Gerard’s wayward finishing. But Villarreal will take a slender advantage into next Thursday’s second-leg encounter thanks to Bruno’s superb 25-yard free-kick five minutes from the final whistle.

Malaga and Athletic Bilbao played out a goalless draw at the La Rosaleda stadium. The tie is therefore evenly poised ahead of next Thursday’s second-leg clash at the San Mames Stadium. Coincidentally, the two sides also lock horns in Primera Division action on Sunday.

We Lost

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti praised his players’ reaction from their Copa del Rey elimination at the hands of Atletico Madrid in midweek to move four points clear at the top of Spain’s La Liga with a 3-0 win over Getafe.

Victory ensured the European champions will top the table at the halfway mark of the campaign and Ancelotti believes they are well on course for just a second league title in seven years. “This first-half of the season has been very good,” said the Italian. “We started with some problems and then had a great run. We suffered a defeat in Valencia, but the team has great desire to win this competition and we are well-positioned. We just need to keep going.”

It was far from vintage performance by Ancelotti’s men for large spells at the Alfonso Perez Coliseum, but there was no way back for Getafe after a wonderful piece of skill by Karim Benzema teed up Cristiano Ronaldo to slot home the opener just after the hour mark. Gareth Bale then doubled the visitors’ lead before Ronaldo rounded off the scoring with his 36th goal of the season.

“At the start we played a bit slow, but I liked the performance because the team played with intelligence and much better in the second-half than the first. I think the whole team played well, but the assist by Karim opened the game up for us. It was extraordinary.”

Madrid have failed to hit the heights of the form they showed on a 22-game winning run to finish 2014 so far this year as they were beaten by Valencia in La Liga before falling to rivals Atletico in the Cup. However, Ancelotti is confident his side are slowly finding their way back to top form. “I think the intensity with which we played at the end of the year was a little bit better, but the team is improving. Little by little we are returning to our best level.”

Captain Iker Casillas had a comfortable afternoon in goal as Getafe failed to register a single shot on target. And he echoed Ronaldo’s words after the elimination to Atletico in midweek that a lack of Cup action in the coming weeks could boost their league campaign.

“Unfortunately we lost in the Cup where we were the holders, but there are no excuses,” he said. Now we have more time to prepare for games and can train harder. As Cristiano said, we hope it will be one step backwards to take two forwards further down the line.”

Real Madrid Have Big Moves-To Snap Up Teen

Real Madrid have beaten off fierce competition from Europe’s other top clubs to sign 16-year-old Norwegian wonderkid Martin Oedegaard from Stroemsgodset, the Spanish giants confirmed on Thursday.

Oedegaard had been linked with Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Liverpool and Ajax amongst others after visiting the training facilities across Europe in recent months. However, he has opted for a move to the Santiago Bernabeu which will cost the European champions up to a reported €4 million (USD $4.6 million, £3.1 million).

“Real Madrid and Stroemsgodset have reached an agreement for the transfer of Martin Oedegaard,” read a statement on Real’s website. Oedegaard will undergo a medical and be formally presented in front of the media later on Thursday.

It is expected he will start his Madrid career under the orders of French legend Zinedine Zidane in the Real Madrid B team which plays in the third tier of Spanish football.

The left-footed prodigy burst into the spotlight less than a year ago when he became the youngest player to appear and score in the Norwegian Premier League, managing five goals and seven assists in 23 games.

Videos of the young player running rings around opponents have gone viral and soon came to the attention of Norway’s national team. In August, Oedegaard wore Norway’s red and blue shirt for the first time in a friendly against United Arab Emirates, aged just 15 years and 253 days, a national record.

In October, he became the youngest player ever to appear in a UEFA EURO qualifier, coming on as a substitute in a match against Bulgaria.

“He has developed enormously in a short time. He brought down barriers that I think neither he nor anyone else imagined would fall,” Norway manager Per-Mathias Hoegmo told the Aftenposten daily. “His way of playing, his talent, his ability to make choices and think, all of this is impressive,” he added.

Oedegaard is just the latest teen prodigy to be snapped up by Real. Last month 16-year-old Dutch forward Mink Peeters was signed from Ajax, whilst 18-year-old Marco Asensio has already agreed a deal to join from Mallorca at the end of the season.

FIFA 15 Players Tournament In Aston Villa

Throughout the season EA Sports have been running tournaments at the grounds of various elite football clubs to discover who the best professional players of FIFA 15 are and the latest video features Premier League side Aston Villa.

Stan Collymore backs Paul Lambert to keep Aston Villa job

The four players chosen were the club’s four strikers; Christian Benteke, Gabby Agbonlahor, Andi Weimann and Darren Bent, who recently joined Derby County on loan following a short spell with Brighton.

As usual the tournament was played off in a doubles format using a best of three system with Benteke and Weimann facing off against Agbonlahor and Bent.

In the first match Benteke and Weimann chose Bayern Munich whilst Bent and Agbonlahor chose Real Madrid.

Madrid took an early lead but Bayern hit back to go 4-1 up, however in an incredible turn around Madrid came back to eventually win 5-4.

In the second game two red cards for Bent and Agbonlahor, who were now playing as Chelsea saw them lose 2-1 to Bayern.

In the final and deciding game, it was the same teams as the first match and this time Benteke and Weimann didn’t stand a chance with Madrid winning 3-0 as Bent and Agbonlahor went on to claim the series 2-1.

Global top 5 Club At The Season’s Halfway Ratings

fifa 15

EA updates the team and player ratings in FIFA 15 to reflect real-life performance, and this part of the season is as good as any to see who’s on top. Our top five clubs are listed below, a combination of the current Matchday ratings and opinion on how effective the teams are in-game:

1. Real Madrid

As is usually the case, the Spanish giants come in on top of the ratings. While Barcelona may have some more highly-rated players, the style Madrid plays and the speed of its attackers are simply very effective in FIFA. The 92-rated Ronaldo is the easiest player with which to beat defenses and score with in the game, and Bale is even faster on the other wing. Combine those two with the talented dribblers and passers in the midfield, and Madrid can cut opponents apart on the counter or pick out passes to unlock defenses. Right back and goalkeeper are arguably week spots, but Casillas still pulls off great saves and Ramos and Pepe are among the most effective combinations around.

2. Barcelona

While they’re not playing amazingly well in real life, Barcelona’s very highly rated team is quite effective in FIFA 15. The absurd attacking trio of Messi (95), Neymar (88) and Suarez (91) cannot be matched, but it can sometimes be difficult to get the team flowing. Playing as Barcelona always seems to make you play like Barcelona, and a high press passing game can be troublesome to pull off. If you instead take advantage of the attackers’ dribbling skills and pace, you’ll likely be able to beat any defense ahead of you. The midfield is highly rated as well, but it’s a bit slower and more pass-focused than Madrid’s–speed kills in FIFA 15, and that’s why Barcelona sits second.

3. Bayern Munich
The German champions are coasting through the Bundesliga right now, and one look at their roster shows why. The team is stacked from back to front, with the world’s best goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (90) backstopping an already dominating squad. Lewandowski can finish any chance, and he’s flanked by tricky speedsters Robben (90) and Ribery (88). Goetze (86) and Muller (86) can rotate into a number of positions as well, completing an absurdly gifted attacking band. With solid defenders and passers in Schweinsteiger and Alonso (or Lahm if he’s not at fullback) supporting them, this is an extremely difficult team to break down, and the attacking threat is always present.

4. Chelsea

Chelsea are a dominant force so far this season, and Belgian star Eden Hazard is leading the way with his world class talent.
Though they’re playing like the second or third best team in the world, the FIFA 15 ratings don’t quite get that form across. This is due in part to Mourinho’s focus on team effort and tactical efficiency, but there are of course some stand out stars. The 89-rated Eden Hazard is in scintillating form, and can easily beat players on the dribble with his speed in FIFA 15. Goal-scoring machine Diego Costa (87) will convert up top, and Fabregas’ (87, which should arguably be higher given his assist record) passing can launch the perfect attack. The very pacey Willian (82) can provide another outlet, and Matic locks the game down in midfield. Come at your opponents with pressure and speed and Cheslsea can score easily. Courtois (86) is very difficult to beat between the sticks, and a strong defense will help protect any lead you earn.

5. Juventus
Though not named in the same breath as the rest of Europe’s elite in the last few years, the current Juventus side is quite good. You might see more PSG or Manchester City playing online, but this team is better in the game on paper. The outrageously talented Pogba is now an 87 and can score, create, and defend in midfield, while Tevez is as effective as ever up top. Perhaps the world’s best all-around player Arturo Vidal (87) will make this side difficult to break down and can help the scoring. If there’s a weakness to this team it’s in its speed, but the same could be argued for City’s midfield and defense. Juventus may not immediately come to mind as a top team, but they’re currently leading Serie A and are rated well in FIFA 15.
